At Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW), we are passionate about developing world-class pharmacists and professionals to be servant leaders, dedicated to improving the health of our communities. To help achieve this, our School of Pharmacy, is pleased to offer an MPH dual degree.
Virtual TourThrough CUW’s online Master of Public Health (MPH) program, our students will be prepared to resolve complex health issues and enhance the well-being of communities. The MPH dual degree program allows you to focus on an Applied Community and Population Health Concentration to complement your passion for service and the desire to improve public health. While the MPH courses are offered online, the PharmD courses must be taken face-to-face at the School of Pharmacy in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Applied Community and Population Health Concentration
Concordia’s MPH dual program empowers you to promote health, prevent disease, and serve your community with purpose. Rooted in Concordia’s Christian mission, this program blends science, evidence-based practice, and servant leadership to prepare you to address today’s most pressing public health challenges.
You’ll gain applied skills in epidemiology, health policy, communication, informatics, implementation science, and program evaluation, equipping you to lead population level change with integrity, compassion, and competence.
The PharmD-MPH dual degree will enhance your ability to serve patients and the broader community. It will provide you with highly sought after skills within our healthcare system, specifically in relation to preventative healthcare.
Graduates will be able to serve the public in many unique ways, including but not limited to:
- Serve as a medication safety officer/champion or population health expert for a health care system
- Manage regulations on a local (e.g. departments of public health), national (e.g. Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), or international level (e.g. World Health Organization)
- Work in industry with research and development, or post-marketing surveillance/safety monitoring
- Provide community health education
- Manage and/or evaluate health promotion/disease prevention programs
- Many other capacities
