Fall 2021 return plan starts today

August 16, 2021

August 16, 2021 marks the start of our renewed efforts to keep our campus safe in light of new COVID variants

Dear Concordians,

On Friday you received an email detailing our fall 2021 return plan. Today marks the start of our renewed efforts to keep our campus community healthy and the spread of the coronavirus (and its new variant) at bay.

If you have not had a chance to thoroughly review Friday's email, please take a moment to do so today.

Here are three takeaways that you should start acting on today:

  1. Complete the Daily Symptoms Tracker
This morning, we became aware of a glitch in the system that prohibited some of you from receiving your morning text alert. We have now addressed it, so you should receive your text alert tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

For today, if you have not yet completed the Daily Symptoms Tracker, please enter the Medicat Patient Portal. Click to complete the Daily Symptoms Tracker form (i.e. get to the page that shows you your green dot). Under the green dot, you'll see a subhead that says "Forms." Click on the hyperlinked "Symptoms Tracker" and complete the questionnaire.

Whether you are vaccinated or not, all current students, faculty, and staff are expected to complete the Daily Symptoms Tracker before 9 a.m. each day moving forward. Refer to the return plan (linked above) for instructions on how to restart your daily text alerts.
  2. Wear a mask while indoors
Regardless of vaccination status, all are required to wear a mask indoors while on campus. This policy will be reevaluated every week throughout the fall semester. At this time, there are no physical distancing or capacity requirements.
  3. Get vaccinated
We highly encourage you to consider getting vaccinated. If you are interested in receiving the Pfizer vaccine right here on CUW's campus, please complete the vaccination schedule form here.

We understand that this is an unusually challenging time for all of us. Again, it is our hope that these measures will assist us in keeping our campuses healthy and safe to the best of our ability.

Together, we each can do our own part.

God’s peace,
Dr. Steve Taylor
