President's Message

March 5, 2020

Our top priority is to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Dear Concordia Family,

As a global community, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, COVID 19 is of concern to all of us at Concordia University. While no one in our university family has been directly impacted by the virus, our top priority is to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Since January a cross-functional team of managers has been monitoring the developments of this emerging health situation and assessing the potential for impact on our campus and our community. This team, alongside the university’s leadership cabinet, are implementing guidelines and action plans related to on-campus wellness, health services, international students, study abroad, missions, and spring break travel. They are also evaluating campus operations for emergency preparedness should there be a variation in our threat level. This page was created to share Concordia’s most up-to-date information on COVID 19 to keep our students safe.

I specifically invite your continued prayers for our Concordia international students, many of whom are worried about relatives, friends, and their home communities overseas. We do have plans in place to provide for these students if continued risk would make their plans to go home at the end of the semester difficult. As you can imagine, the situation is a source of concern for these international students.

Thank you to everyone who is working together to keep our Concordians safe.

In Christ’s service,
Rev. Patrick T. Ferry, PhD
University President
