These programs have a minimum undergraduate GPA requirement of 3.00.

Admissions Process for Graduate School

1. Application (Please Submit the Following):

• Application form available at: www.cuw.edu/apply
• One page essay describing your reason for obtaining a graduate degree
• Résumé of your education and employment experience
• Two signed letters of recommendation using the Recommendation Form (recommendation letters on letterhead may also be submitted)
• All official transcripts leading to your bachelor’s degree

Please note:

1. • Graduate entrance exams such as the GRE are not required
   • If you have completed graduate level classes in the last seven years and wish to have them evaluated for possible transfer, please contact your admissions counselor for more information on transferring graduate credits
   • International students should contact the Office of International Student Services at international.admissions@cuw.edu for additional application requirements
2. Evaluation
   When an applicant’s file is complete, the file is forwarded to the Admission Committee for review.
   
   
3. Admission
   If the student is admitted, an acceptance letter will be mailed to the student and the student’s Falcon One Student ID number. Password information to access my.cuw.edu will be sent separately from the Information Technology office. Your advisor will be able to give you information regarding completion of the required student orientation before you begin your first class.

The Gifted & Talented Program is an accelerated graduate program that can be taken as a license-only or within a master’s degree. The goal of this program is to equip current teachers with the tools and training to challenge and support their gifted and talented students.

In order to thrive, gifted students require rich curriculum and trained teachers to prepare them for the future. Because most gifted and talented students attend regular classes, this program is designed to prepare general education teachers to help these students in typical classrooms, as well as in gifted and talented programs. Concordia’s professors pass on their theoretical and practical knowledge to help teachers discover how to pace instruction with students’ needs, provide structure and choice, and promote supported risks.

Individuals who complete the Gifted & Talented Licensure Program, and are currently licensed or eligible for Wisconsin DPI Teacher licensure, are eligible for the Gifted Education Teacher license #1013 or, with one additional course, the Gifted Education Program Coordinator license #5013. Students wanting to earn a master’s degree can add 18-21 credits to receive their Masters of Science in Education – Instructional Leadership

• Coordinating Gifted and Talented Programs (EDG 6326) – Credits: 3
  (for Gifted and Talented Coordinator License)

Scholarship Information: Concordia now offers three new scholarship programs aimed at adult and post-traditional learners. They include:  

• Academic Community Scholarship—Concordia currently has Preferred Educational Partnership (PEP) agreements with over 100 public, private, charter, and voucher schools in Wisconsin. All PEP district employees are eligible to receive $450 per three-credit graduate course.
• Christian Community Scholarship—Employees of any qualifying Christian organization, church or school are eligible to receive $500 per participating graduate program.
• Alumni Scholarship— Concordia alumni are eligible to receive $500 per participating graduate program.

All funds will be applied toward tuition and future tuition within the academic year and is not retroactive to past coursework completed prior to the receipt of this application.
