Bio
Ankerberg is the current President of Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor. Prior to accepting this position, he served as University Provost, Interim President, Associate Vice-President for Academics, and Professor of English at Concordia University Chicago. He also acted as University Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Concordia University Texas. He served in several roles at Wisconsin Lutheran College, including Assistant Provost, Chair of the School of Modern Languages, Director of the Honors Program and Gary Greenfield Chair in Christian Leadership Studies. Ankerberg also taught English at Concordia University Ann Arbor and Concordia University Wisconsin, and is currently pursuing pastoral ordination within the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Dr. Bichler did her undergraduate work at Carroll College, a private institution similar to CUW, and majored in chemistry with minors in biology and German. She then completed her Ph.D. in bioorganic chemisry at Northwestern University and has been teaching chemistry ever since.

Mark Bloedow, Assistant Professor of Music, is Director of Handbell Activities at Concordia including conducting the Alleluia Ringers and Chapel Ringers, as well as, the conductor and developer of Concordia’s community choir, the Concordia Civic Chorale. In addition Mark is the Executive/Artistic Director of Maestro Productions, Inc. (including the Madison Area Community Chorus and Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble), and Music Director at Immanuel Lutheran Church, all located in Madison. He was previously Artistic Director for Madison's Choral Arts Society Chorale and Guest Director, Associate Music Director and Music Director for Madison Area Concert Handbells. Mark earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he graduated with Outstanding Senior recognition. He received his Master's degree in Church Music from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, and later served at Concordia as guest adjunct Professor of Music before joining the music faculty full-time. Presently Prof. Bloedow is a doctoral candidate in Music Education at Boston University, Boston, MA.

<b>Dr. Alexa Doebele</b> is professor of music, director of choral activities, and director of graduate church music at Concordia University Wisconsin, where she conducts Kammerchor, Selah, and the Chapel Choir, in addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music education, conducting, and choral literature. She joined the CUW faculty in 2009, having taught previously at the University of Wyoming, the University of Colorado, and Front Range Community College. She is a ten-year veteran of K-12 music education, most recently at Iver C. Ranum High School in Denver, Colorado. She is a frequent clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor, and is active as an editor of choral music. Prior to her arrival in Wisconsin, Dr. Doebele served as the Director of Music at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She is also active as both a solo and choral singer, having appeared with the Milwaukee Chamber Choir, Vox Antiqua, the Milwaukee Choral Artists, the Colorado Conductors’ Chorus, the Ars Nova Singers, St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, the Boulder Chorale, the Littleton Chorale, and the Colorado Symphony Chorus. Dr. Doebele can be heard as a featured soloist with the Ars Nova Singers on the CDs I Heard a Voice and blue true dream, and she has performed solo and choral works with them on tour in Santa Fe, NM, Washington, DC, and Vancouver, Canada. She completed a bachelor’s degree (double major in vocal performance and German language and literature) at Washington University in St. Louis and her Master of Music Education and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Ehlers joined the faculty of Concordia University Wisconsin in August, 2010. He received his doctoral and master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University and his bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University. Dr. Ehlers is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Prior to Concordia University, he worked for Medtronic, Inc., the University of Wisconsin and Northern Illinois University. Dr. Samson Folarin is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Concordia University Wisconsin. He has a PhD in Mathematics from University of Texas at Dallas. For his PhD dissertation, he worked on “RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION OF NON-GAUSSIAN FIELD USING COMBINED ENSEMBLE BASED METHOD.” In his dissertation, he mainly focused on a study of new method as an alternative to Monte Carlo Markov Chain to quantify uncertainty in the subsurface porous media flow.<br>After his PhD graduation, he worked as an adjunct assistant professor in the department of Mathematics at Texas A & M University. During that period, he was involved in teaching upper Mathematics and Statistics classes, also mentoring some student research work.<br>Since August 2021, he has been in the Department of Mathematics at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Brian Harries teaches early British literature in the Concordia English department, with an emphasis primarily on the late Middle Ages and Renaissance. Dr. Kenney has been on the faculty of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and is presently a full professor of Concordia University, Wisconsin. Areas of expertise include; drawing, advanced drawing, design, graphic design, color theory, animation, art history, history of design and art education for both graduate and undergraduates. As the creative director for Graphic Outlook, an in house senior level design firm at Concordia University Dr. Kenney is a leader in service learning and working with non profits organizations, businesses and communities throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. .

Dr. Lane joined the Theology Faculty of Concordia in 2013 after serving as pastor of Celebration Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, FL (2010-2013). He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Framingham State College in Massachusetts (2001) and received his M.Div. and S.T.M. degrees from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN (2007 and 2010). He received his doctorate in Historical Theology at the University of Hamburg, Germany, under Johann Anselm Steiger in 2015. His dissertation, "Luther's Epistle of Straw: The Voice of St. James in Reformation Preaching" is available from De Gruyter Publishing (Berlin, 2018).

Bio
Dr. Jessica Loppnow is an assistant professor in the department of natural sciences. She obtained her PhD from UW-MIlwaukee in the field of Immunology. Her research focuses on anti-cancer properties of natural compounds and how this affects proliferation and death of human cancer cells. Dr. Loppnow also works extensively with undergraduate students to engage them in experimental design and research techniques in her lab. She also teaches full-time face-to-face courses on the Mequon campus, and also teaching online nursing courses.

Dr. Makstenieks, Professor of Science, earned her M.D. in University of Tartu, Estonia, with specialization in General Practice, Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. After graduation she practiced in her native Riga, Latvia, both in ambulatory settings and in acute treatment of athletes during sports events and competitions, as well as in her private practice of acupuncture and physical therapy. At CUW she has been teaching a variety of medical sciences - Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Histology, and conducting research in pedagogy methods.<br>“My main task as a professor is to help our students develop and keep alive the Thirst for Knowledge. Darrin Smith was born in Meriden, CT. He’s worked as an Associate Professor and staff athletic trainer at both Colorado State University-Pueblo and Concordia University Wisconsin. He currently resides at Concordia University in Mequon Wisconsin in the Department of Health and Human Performance. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1999. His Master of Science in Exercise Science was earned at Western Illinois University in 2002. In 2017, he completed his Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Athletic Training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Dr. Patrick Steele, an assistant professor of history, earned his B.A. and M.A. in history at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. He attended Marquette University, where he earned his PhD in Modern American history. Before arriving at Concordia, he taught at the University of Wisconsin—Fox Valley, the University of Wisconsin—Fond du Lac, and Wisconsin Lutheran College. His dissertation was entitled “Strategic Air Warfare and Nuclear strategy: The Formulation of Military Policy in the Truman Administration, 1945-1950”. The courses that he teaches at CUW include those in Asian history, the Vietnam War, American history, the Modern Middle East, and the history of sports, including baseball and football.

Jenny serves clinical education coordinator for the athletic training program, and also teaches several athletic training courses, including manual therapy. In addition, Jenny practices as an athletic trainer in the athletic training clinic supervising students during their clinical experiences and working with student athletes. Dr. Harald Tomesch is a veteran professor in the CUS system since 1987. In 2014 Dr. Tomesch was advanced to Full Professor at Concordia University Wisconsin. In his career Dr. Tomesch taught biblical Greek and in a world renown scholar for the Book of Hebrews. In 2005-2008 Dr. Tomesch was President of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. In his ministry he began three mission congregations and two Lutheran elementary schools. He was also part of the business community holding multiple patents and years of experience in manufacturing and hiring CUW students in Wisconsin. His pastor ministry celebrates a milestone of 41 years in 2022.

I hold an MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts, and a BA in Theatre and Afro-American Studies from UW-Madison. I bring 25 + years professional theatre experience, including TV, Film, Radio, Modeling, and Voice Over. I have worked in Drama Ministry for over 10 years, working primarily with disadvantaged urban youth. I have taught Theatre at CUW since 2006, and continue to work as a professional actor/director/Voice over artist in the Milwaukee area.

We moved back to Clifton to raise our daughters (Piper and Reete). My research has focused on Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas and includes a chapter in a book about epistemology, and articles about causal power and divine omnipotence.

I'm originally from Michigan, and went to Michigan State as an undergraduate. After teaching high school, I returned to school at Marquette to complete my MA and PhD. My scholarly interests include book history, cheap literature (chapbooks, penny serials), and the gothic.

- Rhetorical pedagogy. I work with students' writing to help them frame ideas clearly while expressing themselves and demonstrating their capacity to create new knowledge.
- Anti-racism and linguistic justice in the English classroom. I recognize every student's right to their own language, and believe there are many ways to speak English.

Rev. Horsman attended Florida State University, served in the Marine Corps Reserve, and was Youth Director at his church all in his hometown in Florida. In 1998 he entered the seminary in St. Louis- exactly one month after marrying Leah! He was ordained in 2002 and serves a church close to where his wife grew up. A life-long student of history, Rev. Horsman also enjoys playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and four children.

A native of St Louis, MO, Wendelin moved to Wisconsin from San Diego in 2001. She became part of the CUW Voice Faculty in 2012 and teaches applied voice, Techniques of Teaching Voice and Aural Theory. She also runs her own private voice and piano studio. As a vocalist, Wendelin has performed in Opera and Music Theater, Oratorio, Concert and Recitals across the United States. She has one daughter and lives with her husband in Cedarburg.
