Preceptor resources

Collaborative Education Institute (CEI): a resource for preceptors that offers developmental, as well as clinical modules that include CE. Access to this is provided as a benefit to CUW—SOP preceptors via E*Value.

  1. Log into your E*Value account and choose the Learning Modules tab from the menu bar; then select “Connect to CEI Account” from the submenu. Follow the prompts to the CEI website. View details or register at no charge for any of the activities housed on this page. All are accredited for CPE.
  2. Enter the code "23CONCORD" on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Click on the Preceptor Catalog. Courses available will be listed as FREE. Sort courses by categories or with the Preceptor Course Finder.
  4. At the Transaction Summary screen, click “Finalize Registration”
  5. To access your activity, either go to “My Portfolio” or choose “Click Here to go to Activity”
  6. Scroll down to the list titled “My Activities” and locate the title, which should appear in the list. To access the links to the activity and any supporting documents, click the title. Any supporting handouts associated with the activity will be available by clicking the link titled “Available” under the Handouts column of the activity table.

Pharmacists Letter (PL) Preceptor Training Network: a free source of preceptor training modules, including free CE offerings and CE tracking. Examples of Free CE opportunities from the PL include:

  • Precepting: Giving Difficult Feedback
  • Precepting Across Generations and Using Adult Learning Methods
  • Precepting: Incorporating Learners into Your Practice

    APhA Advance Preceptor Training: addresses the role of the preceptor and strategies to enhance implementation of pharmacy rotation
  • Preceptor SIG: addresses giving feedback, evaluating students, and managing difficult learning situations

National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education: coordinates and studies the advancement of collaborative, team-based health professions education and patient care as an efficient model for improving quality, outcomes, and cost. It’s a free resource with online training modules and group resources focused on inter-professional practice and education.
